Our Story

From Solo Developer to Galactic Visionaries

The Genesis of 24-Players

Our Story began as a passionate hobby transformed into something far greater than I could have imagined. Like many game developers, I started with dreams and ideas, sketching game concepts in notebooks and learning development fundamentals in my spare time. Gaming wasn’t just entertainment for me—it was a canvas for storytelling, a medium to create worlds where players could lose themselves for hours.

The pivotal moment came unexpectedly. While working as a freelance game design document (GDD) writer on Fiverr, helping others bring their visions to life, a client asked me a simple question that changed everything: “Do you have any games of your own?” That question sparked a realization—I was helping others build their dreams while keeping mine on the back burner.

Our Story

This was the catalyst that transformed 24-Players from a distant aspiration into a tangible goal. Instead of solely being hired to create GDDs, I began hiring talented freelancers to help bring my own game concepts to reality. The transition from solo dreamer to team builder had begun.

Building a Universe Together

As a lifelong fan of expansive sci-fi universes like Star Trek and Star Wars, I’ve always been fascinated by how these franchises create coherent galaxies where countless stories can unfold. These weren’t just entertainment properties—they were living, breathing worlds with their own histories, technologies, species, and conflicts.

This inspired the foundational concept behind 24-Players: all our games would exist within a single, cohesive sci-fi galaxy with consistent rules, lore, and characters. Each game would tell its own story while contributing to the larger narrative tapestry. Players might encounter a character in one game and then see their backstory explored in another, or witness how events in one corner of the galaxy affect civilizations elsewhere.

The Freelancer Revolution

The transformation of 24-Players from concept to reality wouldn’t have been possible without the global community of talented freelancers. What started as a few experimental collaborations quickly evolved into lasting partnerships with artists, developers, sound designers, and writers from around the world.

This distributed team model has become core to our identity. We don’t believe exceptional games require massive studios with hundreds of employees and corporate hierarchies. Instead, we’ve embraced a network of specialized talents who come together around shared passion projects, contributing their unique expertise while maintaining creative freedom.

Every team member brings their own perspective, challenging assumptions and elevating our games beyond what any individual could achieve alone. This collaborative spirit has shaped not just our games but our company culture as well.

A New Model for Game Development

The games industry has long been plagued by certain practices that harm both players and developers: canceled projects after years of development, crunch culture, microtransaction-driven design, and abandoned games post-launch.

At 24-Players, we’re committed to doing things differently:

  • No Game Left Behind: Once we announce a game, we’re committed to seeing it through to completion.
  • Sustainable Development: We prioritize healthy work schedules and realistic milestones over arbitrary deadlines.
  • Player-First Design: Gameplay and experience come before monetization strategies.
  • Long-Term Support: Our games aren’t fire-and-forget releases but evolving experiences that grow with our community.
  • Transparency: We communicate openly about our development process, including challenges and setbacks.

These principles aren’t just marketing points—they’re the foundation of every decision we make.

The AI Acceleration

Our journey has coincided with a remarkable revolution in creative technologies. Advanced AI tools have dramatically accelerated our concept development, planning, and knowledge acquisition processes. These technologies have allowed us to iterate faster, explore more possibilities, and focus our human creativity on the elements that matter most.

From generating initial concept art to helping balance game mechanics, AI has become an invaluable collaborator in our creative process. Rather than replacing human creativity, it has amplified it, allowing our small team to achieve what once required dozens of specialists.

This technological edge has enabled us to develop multiple titles simultaneously without sacrificing quality or creative vision—a capability that would have been unthinkable for an independent studio just a few years ago.

Our Roadmap to the Stars

With four mobile games currently in development and two major PC/console titles in the design phase, we’re building our galactic universe one game at a time. This isn’t a random collection of products but a carefully orchestrated expansion plan:

Our mobile titles serve as both standalone experiences and entry points into the larger 24-Players universe. These projects, funded by conventional career earnings, allow us to establish our brand, build our community, and generate the resources needed for our more ambitious visions.

The success of these initial offerings will fuel our PC and console development—bigger, deeper experiences that further explore our shared galaxy. From there, we aim to establish a publishing division that will bring other independent creators into our universe, allowing them to tell their own stories within our established framework while maintaining their creative independence.

The ultimate goal? A branching, interconnected universe as rich and varied as the sci-fi franchises that inspired us—not a single game but a galaxy of experiences that players can explore for years to come.

Join Our Journey

What started as one person’s hobby has evolved into a collaborative vision for a new kind of game development studio—one that values creativity over convention, sustainability over short-term gains, and community over corporate interests.

Our story is still being written, with many chapters yet to unfold. The games currently in development represent just the beginning of what we hope will become a lasting contribution to the medium we love.

Whether you’re a player eager to explore new worlds, a creator looking to join forces, or simply someone who believes games can be more than they are today, we invite you to be part of the 24-Players story. This galaxy is big enough for all of us, and we’re just getting started.

Welcome to 24-Players—where every game is a new adventure in our shared universe.
